Editorial process

Peer-review process

Scientific articles, essays and systematic bibliographic reviews will be evaluated through the blind peer-review system under parameters according to each type of text. The entire process can take between eight to twelve weeks.

  1. The editor responsible for the issue, along with the editorial team, will review the relevance of the work and compliance with the editorial standards indicated above. Authors whose papers do not meet these characteristics will be informed about the decision and will not be submitted to the next evaluation phase.
  2. Papers that comply with the established guidelines will be reviewed anonymously by two external evaluators who will indicate whether the material should be published or not.
  3. In the event that the opinions are not conclusive (one positive and the other negative), the recommendations requested from the evaluators and the deadline for adjusting the text will be communicated to the author. After that, a third external evaluator will be summoned, whose opinion will indicate whether the work should be published or not. Once the evaluation is made, it will be communicated to the author. The reviewers' reports and the final decision of the Editorial Team are final and cannot be appealed.
  4. The editorial team is responsible for selecting the suitable evaluators, following the criteria: (a) That they be a specialist in the subject with methodological mastery. You must be registered in your academic institution with that line of research or you must have publications or theses related to the subject. (b) Academic parity. The academic degree must be equivalent to the author. (c) Except for a few exceptions, the evaluator will be external to our institution, ensuring the objectivity and impartiality of the evaluation. You can read the list of the evaluators of the last two issues here.
  5. The author is responsible for ensuring that the conditions of anonymity are maintained in the text. In the event that the evaluator indicates that the anonymity conditions are not maintained, it will be immediately declared as not publishable.
