Abstract

In the first part, the article shows some of the conclusions that Habermas came to when studying the public sphere phenomenon in Europe. In that same context, it clearly shows the relationship between the ones that defend more economic and commercial freedoms and the press actions to defend those positions. Then, an exploration of some part of the Venezuelan history from 1830 to 1847 will take place, with the intention to help understand the mentioned relationship, it will be evaluated a printing press law from 1839.
