Peer Review Process

Research papers, essays and systematic bibliographical reviews will be evaluated by external blinded peers under parameters according to each particular case. The complete process may take between four and eight weeks.

  1. The editor and the editorial team will review the relevance of the work, as well as the compliance with the editorial rules aforementioned. We will inform the authors whose texts do not comply with those characteristics, as they will be excluded from the next phase of evaluation.
  2. Papers that comply with the established guidelines will be reviewed anonymously by two external reviewers, who will decide if the text is to be published, or not. Papers will be sent without the presentation page.
  3. In the event that the reviewers’ decisions are not conclusive (a positive and a negative), the authors will be informed of any recommendations the reviewers make and a time limit for a new version of the text. Afterwards, a third reviewer will be summoned, their decision, be it positive or negative, will be final. Once the decision is made, the authors will be informed.
  4. The editorial team is responsible for choosing and summoning ideal reviewers, according to the following criteria: (a) an expert on the topic with a grasp of its methodology. Must register research interest at their academic institution, or have publications along the topics to be reviewed, (b) (b) Academic parity. The academic degree must be equivalent to the author, (c) with exceptions, the reviewer will be external to our institution, securing objectivity in their evaluation.
  5. The authors are responsible for anonymity conditions maintained in the text. In the event that a reviewer points out that these conditions are not kept, it will be immediately rendered unpublishable.
