Televisión: crisis del mercado y nuevos modelos comerciales

Los tres modelos de empresa tradicionales en el mercado de la televisión italiana parecen no tener grandes perspectivas de crecimiento. El canon y la publicidad televisiva han mostrado ya sus límites y están sujetos a críticas que van en aumento. Los ingresos generados en los últimos años por las suscripciones a la televisión de pago han registrado una desaceleración marcada, ligada no solo a factores de coyuntura, sino también a una saturación de tendencia y una orientación diferente del público. El hecho más evidente es el desarrollo de los servicios de televisión no lineales a través de la web, es decir los servicios llamados over the top; entre ellos, Netflix representa el nuevo modelo comercial más interesante y exitoso.
