SECTIONS OF THE JOURNAL

Contratexto has three sections:

  • Trends: This miscellaneous section is oriented to the study of various aspects of communication: politics and media, semiotics, technological convergence, socio-communicative issues, journalism, media literacy, theories and methodologies of communication research, film and audiovisual media, intercultural communication, history of communication, among others. 
  • Dossier: This section is oriented to an specific topic and edited by invited researchers with extensive experience. 
  • Conceptual trailer: Its purpose is to offer conceptual reflections, emerging theoretical perspectives, or essays of intellectual positioning that complement the journal’s peer-reviewed scientific content. The texts published in this section are commissioned and are not subject to peer review.
    Invitations may be extended to any researcher or academic whose trajectory is relevant to the thematic scope and editorial interests of Contratexto. Prior to publication, all texts are evaluated by the journal’s editorial committee, which ensures their relevance and quality and may request adjustments in form or length. The editorial team may also consider texts previously published by the author in another language or format.

 

CALL FOR PAPERS

The usual deadline for manuscript submission is:

  • February 1st - June 1st, for the December issue
  • August 15 - November 1st, for the June issue
