About the Journal

ISSN: 2410-6127 (Print) / 2523-630X (Online); DOI10.26439/limaq

LIMAQ, the journal of the School of Architecture of Universidad de Lima, aims to promote and disseminate research and reflection on topics related to architectural design and the city, and is directed to academic and professional audiences. It is a biannual publication (May-November) resulting from Thematic Calls and a Permanent Call. It has an Editorial and Scientific Committee comprised of distinguished national and international academics.

Approach and scope

We welcome theoretical and empirical research articles exploring topics such as project analysis, and the theory and critique of architectural design; the relationship between architecture and related disciplines in science and the humanities; historiographical analysis of projects and processes; the role of innovation and new technologies; urban studies and city planning; landscape theory and experiences of landscape; building and urban sustainability; public space; heritage conservation; housing studies, and the logics of dwelling.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that adhere to the established guidelines will be anonymously reviewed by two evaluators (double-blind peer review system) who will provide their observations and recommendations, if any, for possible improvements. Based on the reviewers' observations, the journal editor will communicate the motivated result to the corresponding author. The author will be notified of this decision according to the following classifications:

  • Accepted without modifications
  • Accepted with minor modifications
  • Accepted with major modifications and re-evaluation
  • Not approved

The author will have seven days to submit a revised version of the article that addresses the evaluators’ comments. The new file should demonstrate the changes made anonymously.

In cases where evaluations are inconclusive (one positive and one negative), a third evaluator will be called upon. The third evaluator’s opinion will determine whether the work should be published or not. Once the decision is made, it will be communicated to the corresponding author. Evaluations of the reviewers are final and cannot be appealed.

The editor is responsible for selecting reviewers based on the following criteria: their expertise in the thematic area or relevant publications. The editor responsible will review the thematic relevance and compliance with the editorial standards outlined above. The evaluation system will focus on four fundamental aspects: the contribution's importance to the disciplinary field and knowledge of the subject; its methodological quality and theoretical foundations; clarity in writing; and a critical judgment involved in the results and conclusion of the piece. Authors whose works do not meet these criteria will be informed of the decision, and their texts will not proceed to the next stage of the editorial process.
