This research contributes to the achievement of SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by promoting clean technologies and resilient infrastructures. The objective of this work was to produce exfoliating soap through the saponification process using olive oil and sodium hydroxide, incorporating scallop shells (Argopecten purpuratus) as a raw material to reduce the accumulation of organic waste in Piura. An applied research study was conducted with a quantitative methodology and a quasi-experimental design. Between 30 and 40 kg of shells were used, and 20 participants were involved in the study, using an environmental projection spreadsheet as the main measurement instrument. Among the 28 formulations prepared, only formulations C2H2R1 and C3H2R1 exhibited the best sensory properties. For 2025, the projected annual production 2025 was 9 096 000 soap units. The unit cost of the soap was PEN 4,86, and its selling price was PEN 6,32, yielding a benefit-cost ratio of 1,30, a positive NPV of PEN 30 115 277,41, and an IRR of 32 %. Additionally, an estimated 11 % reduction in shell accumulation was observed in the study area, demonstrating the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility of waste valorization at the end of the work done.
