Vientos y latidos del pueblo Estudio acerca de las bandas de músicos del Bajo Piura

Abstract

Las bandas de músicos son conformaciones instrumentales de vientos de metal y percusión, que están presentes en las actividades oficiales y religiosas de los pueblos en el Perú y también en muchas otras partes del mundo. En el Bajo Piura, zona yunga situada al norte del Perú, las bandas no solo cumplen un rol estructural en las fiestas patronales, sino que son consideradas “la música más típica” de la zona. El análisis nos da las claves para comprender este fenómeno musical.

    Ph.D. y M.A. en Musicología Comparada por la Universidad Libre de Berlín (FUBerlin), licenciada en Ciencias de la Comunicación por la Universidad de Lima. Instrumentista de guitarra por el Conservatorio Nacional de Música. Ha obtenido el Premio de Honor del Conservatorio de Madrid. Docente en la Facultad
    de Musicología Comparada (FU-Berlín), profesora de guitarra en la Musikschule Paul Hindemith y Musikschule Leo Kestenberg, Berlín. Ha publicado: El valse peruano (1998), Die Bandas, eine Instrumentalpraxis und ihre Bedeutung für das Musikleben in Bajo Piura, Nordperu (2001, 2009), Las grabaciones musicales de Hans Heinrich Brüning (2003), además de artículos en revistas académicas y culturales nacionales y extranjeras.
