Abstract

Escribo este artículo desde Bangui, capital de la República Centroafricana, donde me encuentro en misión. Llegué al África el 2000, después de muchos años de dedicación a la comunicación para el desarrollo en América Latina. Los países de esta región donde había trabajado habían alcanzado un nivel de desarrollo
que les permitía hacer, a través de las instituciones públicas, mucho de lo que antes hacían los proyectos de cooperación internacional. De hecho, ese es un cambio importante: cuando el país se apropia de su desarrollo y lo hace por sí mismo.

Author Biography

  • Max Tello-Charún, Universidad de Lima (Perú)
    Comunicador social y especialista en tecnologías de la información. Es consultor internacional en Comunicación para el Desarrollo y Marketing Social, con amplia experiencia en América Latina y África. Realiza consultorías para la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas (UNFPA), el Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (Unicef) y el Centro de Programas de Comunicación de la Universidad Johns Hopkins, entre otras organizaciones. Ha sido profesor en diversas universidades del Perú, Brasil y Bolivia.
