Guidelines for Authors

Types of contents

Limaq will accept contributions of three types:

  • Scientific articles within the Permanent Call. Material that presents in detail the original results of research projects, the results of a proposed teaching experience, or the analysis of an architectural or urban work as academic research. These contributions will be received in two annual calls and will undergo a blind peer-review process (maximum 5000 words).
  • Scientific articles within the Thematic Area Call. Call proposed by an invited editor on a topic of interest. This material must be presented with the same rigor as the articles within the Permanent Call. These contributions will be announced on our digital platforms in a timely manner and will undergo a blind peer-review process (maximum 5000 words).
  • Digital dossier. Essays, critiques, or interviews aimed at showing the authors' stance on a relevant topic. This section aims to include the reflections of our students and teachers in possible collaborations or as a result of a course subject. This material will be received throughout the year and will undergo a review process by the editorial team (2000-4000 words). This section will be published on the journal's digital platform.

Format for Scientific Articles

    1. Text. It must include a title, abstract, and keywords translated into English. The abstract should be concise and summarize the work done in an analytical style. The abstract should clearly inform about the objective, methodology, and results of the work in a maximum of 150 words and include between 4 and 6 keywords alphabetically ordered.

The document to be published will have up to 5000 words. The word count excludes the title, names and affiliations of the authors, abstract and keywords, as well as bibliographic references. It includes the general body of the article, title of graphics, tables, and figures. Pages should not be letterheaded with the name of the article, author, or institution of affiliation.

It is recommended that the following parts be clearly identified in the general body of the article: introduction and study presentation, description of the problem and state of art of research, methodology, results, conclusions, and bibliography. Articles should be presented in a Word document format in Spanish or English. The text format will be: A4 size, Times New Roman font, size 12, justified paragraphs, 1,5 line spacing, and 3 cm margins on all sides.

Manuscripts should incorporate a significant and adequate number of bibliographic references that denote a thorough review of the relevant literature with an international scope. At least twenty five percent of such references should refer to scientific literature. When available, alphanumeric DOI codes must be included.

    2. Bibliographic References. All citations must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) format in its latest edition. At the end of the text, the reference list must be included, gathering the complete bibliographic information of the sources cited and consulted for the article. Direct quotations must include and indicate the page number, while non-textual citations must only indicate the reference.

    3. Tables and figures: Tables and figures must follow the APA format, be numbered, and include a title and source. For complex tables, plans, and diagrams, editable files will be required.
