La expansión del Canal de Panamá va a ser el proyecto de inversión en infraestructura más grande desarrollado por la República de Panamá en sus cien años de vida independiente. El objetivo de este estudio de simulación es el de utilizar el proyecto de expansión del Canal de Panamá para desarrollar y demostrar el proceso de decisión en un sistema complejo y desarrollar un modelo que ayude a entender el efecto de diferentes aspectos económicos, sociales y políticos relacionados con esta magna obra. Los mayores retos de este proyecto de investigación incluyen el desarrollo de las expresiones para mé tricas que explican las relaciones que lo rigen, así como la dinámica de dichas relaciones y la validación del modelo.
