PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Articles published in the Ingeniería Industrial journal follow this evaluation process:

Received articles are first evaluated by the editor within seven days to determine compliance with basic editorial guidelines and alignment with the journal’s thematic areas.

Articles meeting the initial criteria are evaluated by anonymous reviewers who are experts in the article’s subject matter. The review process follows a double-blind modality, considering the work’s originality, creativity, and contribution to knowledge. All submitted articles must comply with the requirements and procedures outlined in the Publication and Editorial Ethics Standards.

Reviewers have 15 business days to submit their evaluation reports based on detailed review guidelines. The possible outcomes are:

publication without changes
publication with suggested changes
publication with substantial changes (requires second review)
rejection

If an article requires changes, authors must revise and resubmit. The evaluator has 10 working days to review revisions and provide final recommendations.

Upon completion of the review process, the editorial committee reserves the right to recommend or decline publication, notifying authors of its decision.

After acceptance, the corresponding author must submit a publication request to the journal editor, including the following:

Updated Article: Revised according to reviewer observations.
Original Files: Figures and tables in their original file formats.
Rights Assignment: Signed Letter of Assignment of Rights and Declaration of Originality confirming the document has not been published elsewhere.
Author Biographies: Six-line biographies of all authors in a single Word file.

Accepted articles undergo style correction and layout formatting. The formatted article with editorial observations will be sent to the authors for review and final approval before publication.
