Management of intangible psychosocial assets in the 2024 cuban financial sector: a strategic approach based on a conceptual model

Abstract

Psychosocial intangible assets (PIAs), such as leadership, commitment, job satisfaction, work competencies, and perceived outlook, have demonstrated their potential to generate organizational value. This study aimed to develop a conceptual model for the management of PIAs, and conducted a descriptive cross-sectional analysis in 2024 at the Central Bank of Cuba. The sample, selected through purposive sampling, consisted of the institution’s employees. Research techniques included a questionnaire, an expert panel (Delphi method), and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Also, assessed the reliability of the questionnaire using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Indices of weight, importance, consistency, and strategic alignment were calculated. The results show a favorable correspondence between institutional strategies and organizational performance. The analysis revealed moderate to strong positive correlations, particularly among perceived outlook, job satisfaction, leadership, and commitment. Finally, lowest, though still positive, correlation occurred between perceived outlook and work competencies. The model supports continuous improvement in institutional management.

  • Armando Cuesta Santos , Universidad Tecnológica de la Habana José Antonio Hecheverría CUJAE

    He is a psychologist graduated from the University of Havana (1973), with a Master's in Work Organization (1979) and a Doctorate in Economic Sciences (1984). Since 1976, he has been a Full Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the José Antonio Echeverría Higher Polytechnic Institute (ISPJAE). He holds the Distinction for Cuban Education. He presided over the Scientific Degrees Commission of the Faculty for several years and was part of its Scientific Council. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Havana. He was also a member of the Scientific Council of the National Institute of Labor Research. He coordinates the Master's program in Human Resources Management at ISPJAE and is a member of the Commissions for the Master's programs in Psychology and Work Management at the University of Havana. He is a member of the National Innovation Commission of the Republic of Cuba. It has produced important publications that have been published in Cuba and abroad and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. It has carried out numerous consultancies in state, private, and mixed-capital institutions, both national and international.
