Abstract

Libertarianism proclaims respect for individual rights and private property, and in this there is no major difference with the position of the liberal schools, but there is a difference in the size and presence of the State, which is reduced to a minimum. Its influence has been growing in recent years, always ideologically, but not pragmatically, given that in a democracy it would be very difficult to comply with most of its fundamentals. Murray Rothbard’s thought is fundamental to understand libertarian doctrine.
