Objective: This study analyzes the scientific evolution of the concept of grit, understood as the combination of passion and perseverance for long-term goals, and its emerging role as a driver in business contexts. A bibliometric review is conducted to identify trends, key authors, and future research directions. Methodology: The PRISMA methodology was applied for the systematic selection of literature in Scopus, considering publications from 2007 to 2023. From an initial 13,418 records, 944 relevant documents were selected after applying filters by year, subject area, language, and thematic relevance. A bibliometric analysis by country, institution, author, and journal was performed using indicators such as number of publications, citations, H-index, and SJR factor, together with a standardization process to compare the relative influence of the most prominent contributors. Results: The United States leads scientific production on grit, with the University of Pennsylvania and Angela Duckworth as main references. The most influential journals are Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Frontiers in Psychology. The growing number of publications demonstrates a cross-disciplinary trend across psychology, business, and social sciences. Originality/value: This study represents the first bibliometric review of grit in business, offering a global overview and opening avenues for interdisciplinary research. Theoretical and practical implications: Theoretically, it positions grit as a key variable in organizational behavior, leadership, and corporate resilience. Practically, it guides organizations and talent managers to incorporate grit into recruitment, development, and performance evaluation, fostering organizational cultures of sustained effort and workplace well-being.
