La gestión municipal y el desarrollo de una ciudad sostenible: el caso del distrito de San Isidro

Sustainable cities have become an option to combat environmental problems and their negative effects, requiring the commitment of all individuals and civil society organizations. In this sense, the present study seeks to relate how municipal management contributes to the development of sustainable cities through citizen perception in the district of San Isidro. For this purpose, a non-experimental and cross-sectional methodology was used, where the instrument was a survey applied to a sample of 385 residents, with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) being carried out as a previous step, with 40% and 60% of the total sample, respectively. The IBM SPSS 26 software and its AMOS complement were used for data analysis. Thus, the results of the work show that there is a positive correlation between municipal management and sustainable cities in the case of the district of San Isidro. Lima-Peru. Likewise, it was verified that the municipal planning component contributes to the development of the environment in the aforementioned sustainable city, thus proving hypothesis 2. With respect to hypotheses 3, 4, 5 and 6, it is verified that the components of the municipal management variable contribute to the correct development of the components that make up the sustainable cities’ variable. Finally, it is confirmed that both the hypotheses and objectives of the research were fulfilled, as expected.
