Editorial process
Peer Review Process
Submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process, taking into account the characteristics and parameters of each article type.
- The editorial team will evaluate the relevance of the work and compliance with previously established editorial guidelines.
- Works that do not adhere to editorial guidelines, are not within the journal's objective and scope, do not meet minimum methodological quality criteria for scientific publications in psychology, or do not comply with established ethical criteria will not proceed to the next evaluation phase, and authors will be informed of the decision.
- Works that meet the guidelines will be anonymously reviewed by two expert evaluators who will issue a report with a recommendation indicating whether the article is publishable, publishable with modifications, or not publishable. It may also be the case that the evaluator indicates that the manuscript must undergo a second review round once initial observations are resolved.
- In the event that the evaluators' recommendations are not conclusive (one positive and one negative), a third external evaluator will be convened. With the third evaluator's assessment, the editorial team will decide whether the work should be published or not. Once the decision is made, it will be communicated to the author. If considered publishable, the recommendations from the three evaluators will be sent, and the deadline for text adjustment will be communicated. The assessments of the evaluators and the editorial team are final. Authors will be informed of the editorial decision. If the recommendation is publishable with modifications, authors will have the opportunity to resubmit the article after addressing the observations.
- The editorial team is responsible for selecting appropriate evaluators for each manuscript based on their expertise in the subject and methodology (in the case of an empirical article), which implies having publications or theses related to the topic, having participated in research projects in the same or related areas, or being a university professor of courses related to the researched topic.
- The author is responsible for ensuring the manuscript's anonymity conditions. If the anonymity conditions are not maintained in the text, it will be considered unpublishable.
