El sueño de los universitarios. Los logros y desafíos para las universidades promotoras de la Salud

Resumen

El presente ensayo tiene por objetivo describir y reflexionar sobre la problemática del sueño en la población universitaria, incluso desde antes de la pandemia, así como presentar una revisión de las principales intervenciones de promoción del sueño en las universidades. Bajo este contexto, se describe cómo la baja calidad del sueño se relaciona con diferentes variables psicológicas de interés para la salud mental, y se enfatiza sobre sus consecuencias en el rendimiento y bienestar de las y los estudiantes. Asimismo, se realiza una revisión de las principales experiencias de intervención desde el movimiento de Universidades Promotoras de la Salud, discutiendo sobre los logros, alcanzados y proponiendo recomendaciones para enfrentar los retos y desafíos que plantea la promoción de un sueño saludable. Entre las recomendaciones se plantea a la academia asumir el reto de generar evidencia de manera sistemática para realizar intervenciones sostenibles y que tengan impacto en la comunidad universitaria.
