Abstract

Compensation for training and the solidarity mechanism were incorporated into FIFA regulations in 2001 with the aim of enabling clubs that trained and invested in the development of their young players to receive a series of payments in return for their work. However, both mechanisms failed to meet the expectations that led to their creation, as training clubs largely did not receive the amounts generated in compensation for training and the solidarity mechanism. One of the reasons for the creation of the FIFA Compensation Chamber is to ensure that all amounts related to both mechanisms are received by their beneficiaries. This article will analyze the most important features of training compensation,
the solidarity mechanism, and the Clearing House in order to understand how FIFA, with the incorporation of this new entity, intends to ensure that the amounts determined in the applicable regulations are received by the training clubs.
