Global terrorism: a threat in the process of expansion

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to answer certain current questions, both in our country and abroad, regarding global terrorism. The subject will be approached from antiquity, going through the Napoleonic period, early twentieth century, the Cold War and the current century. The historical view on terrorism will allow the reader an adequate understanding of this phenomenon, noting its evolution, both in its modus operandi and in its political or economic motivations. The topic of "Sendero Luminoso" in Peru will also be extensively discussed, both because of the importance of the phenomenon and because of the relevance of the current issue.
